BlackBerry

Control a Wii, Xoom or PS3 with BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0

email

BlackBerry OS 2.0 has just been released and already, a powerful new (hidden?) feature has been discovered.

An update to BlackBerry Bridge (the native software which pairs BlackBerry phones with PlayBooks) now lets users connect to a variety of zesty tech, outside of the maligned RIM devices.

With Bluetooth HID, compatible devices such as the Motorola Xoom, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, HTC Flyer and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 can be controlled with a BlackBerry handset. BlackBerry Bridge is supposed to be a BlackBerry only deal, allowing users to remotely control RIM devices. But any Bluetooth HID-compatible device can play along. See the video below for proof of concept.
