Countdown to ZTE’s “most advanced gaming smartphone”

Chinese manufacturer ZTE has announced via a very exuberant tweet that in six days it is going to release one of the most advanced gaming smartphones to the market, in a move to try and enlarge its market-space outside China.

Whether ZTE is just hyping up the release of it’s already known Tegra-3 quad-core Era smartphone, or a completely new device, is yet to be seen. What is clear, though, is that ZTE is looking at expanding outside China. One of the best way to do that is through brand recognition. And one of the best ways to get that is through bold statements via social media.

The potential for gaming smartphones, we think, has not quite been explored fully. Yes, the Sony Xperia Play is a smartphone dedicated to gaming. But we think it’s a bit too cumbersome for everyday use.

If ZTE were to release a gaming smartphone that could compete with the Play whilst still keeping a slim, sleek design, then we think it’ll be a winner. If the Era is anything to go by, it will be a damn good looking phone.
