Japanese website Pocket News have leaked images and Federal Communications Commission documents that show what could be a new super slim version of Sony Playstation’s immensely popular PS3 gaming platform.

The current version of the PS3 is the 3000 series, whereas the documents are labeled 4000, fueling the idea that it is a newer version of the PS3. Eurogamer has had word that Sony will be releasing an updated version of the PS3 next month at the German game show Gamescom

Before the supposed release of the much anticipated PS4 at the end of next year, it seems a good time for Sony to freshen up its gaming platform to attract more customers. It’s a bit of a cheek though. Bring the PS4! Stop this tomfoolery and give us something amazing!
