LG Optimus G, another LTE and quad-core phone unveiled

The new flagship LG smartphone has broken cover in the guise of Optimus G. It has some pretty hard-hitting specifications including LTE which is a must in the fast growing smartphone market.

Korea will be the first to receive it next month on all the major operators. The device will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, not Jelly Bean unfortunately. It will have a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU with 2GB of RAM. The True HD IPS LCD screen will be top-notch with a resolution of 1280 x 768 for its 4.7-inches display.

The screen will be a fully integrated item (similar to in-cell touch technology) and the phone will only measure 8.45mm thick. The rear camera will be 13MP while the front will be a respectable 1.3MP, while the battery will be 2100mAh. Will this become a contender for smartphone champs in the months to come? Most likely, no but it’s nice to see LG trying at least.
