iPhone 5 CPU runs at an incredible 1.3Ghz

The new dual-core, A6 CPU is officially clocked in at 1Ghz, which is decent for a brand new smartphone. Geekbench, a notoriously accurate benchmarking app clocks the A6 CPU in at 1.3Ghz which is to say the least, a blazing fast speed boost over the 800Mhz iPhone 4S. Here’s what the experts have to say.

Now that’s a DAMN fast iPhone

Why then was the iPhone 5 reported to run at 1Ghz only? According to the geniuses at Geekbench, “earlier versions of Geekbench had trouble determining the A6′s frequency, which lead to people claiming the A6′s frequency as 1.0GHz as it was the most common value Geekbench reported.”

This is a constant speed, not a glitch in the benchmarking matrix. The 1.3Ghz speeds are “constant” even when one or both cores are active.
