It was bound to happen eventually. With developers Rovio looking to keep this long running franchise going, its new installment looks to tap directly into the heart of the geek. Angry Birds Star Wars is scheduled for release on 8 November across all OS formats.
Although essentially the same old Angry Birds we all know and half of us love, this incarnation has taken elements from Episodes 4 to 6 (the one’s without Natalie Portman) and incorporated them into this highly addictive boredom-fighter. Rovio have also brought the Star Wars Characters to life in all their beaked and feathered glory, with Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca and of course Darth Vader all making appearances. The Republic and Sith forces will be played by the Pigs. I wonder how Luke will handle the idea of inter-species breeding, his father being a pig and all.
This is by no means revolutionary in terms of gaming, but will definitely make for hours of fun time-wasting. No information on whether or not Angry Birds Star Trek is on the cards.
