Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini rumored for 11 October release

Samsung is possibly set to unveil the Galaxy S3 Mini in the coming weeks. Rumor mills have been working overtime following a leaked image of an invite to the German press.

For those of you not fluent in German, the invite basically translates to “That’s how big small can be”. This has led many to believe that it refers to the S3 Mini which would be a welcome addition to the Samsung range. The rumored specs on the S3 Mini are a 4-inch AMOLED screen and 5 megapixel camera which immediately addresses the size issue of the S3, which many consumers were deterred by. A reduced price compared to the iPhone 5 will give the Mini a distinctive edge in the smartphone market. Consumers will definitely have a tough choice on their hands if rumors of the S3 Mini prove to be true.

It would be actually great if Samsung built a really small smartphone (Like Sony Ericcson Xperia Mini), but with 2GB RAM, a good processor and “Ubuntu for Android” (http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/android). This would be fantastic
