Remain a virgin forever with the purchase of this horrid mess

Dead Island: Riptide Zombie Bait edition (the original game wasn’t badly received) costs US$99 and comes with a 31cm tall female torso thankfully wearing a bikini. The special edition also includes a steel game case, a weapon set DLC and artwork cards.

But once the image hit the interwebs, escalation was inevitable. Publishers Deep Silver quickly apologized over twitter:

We can read the full statement here as we try to comprehend the stupidity behind Deep Silver’s marketing decisions. Fan reaction was a mixed bag, with most wanting to know if the special edition will still be made available. Others on twitter point out how there’s a “culture of misogyny at a decision-making level” and rightfully so. If and when Dead Island: Riptide edition makes into production, it’ll cost U$160 and is only available for Xbox 360, 26 April 2013.
