  • Halo 5: Guardians’ Hammer Storm update brings more multiplayer content

It looks like 343 Industries is doing its best to keep Halo 5: Guardians alive after the game's launch last year. This zombification exists in the form of multiplayer content updates, of which the company has announced a new one for February. Dubbed Hammer Storm, the updated brings with it new a new map, weapons, game modes, and more. • Pac-Man, Lara and Link: Ahmad’s most loved characters from gaming folklore

From their beginning, video games have seen a lot of progress. Rudimentary, addictive games like Frogger and Tetris kept teens stuck in their dark basements for hours on end. Now, gaming is a major pastime and some have brought in more money than the most prosperous blockbuster movies. Some of the video games created were far more expensive to develop than the priciest movies. Gaming companies are intelligent in that they hit the current culture of the generation. Super Mario Bros., for example, will forever be in the hearts of anyone in that generation. They represent a part of particular...

  • Halo 5: Guardians review: what Xbox One fans have been waiting for

Guns, aliens, friends, and music: this is Halo's guts and what keeps players coming back for more. The core series has finally debuted on Microsoft’s latest console, but will it be the killer app and must-have game the platform is in so dire need of? With many people not having a stable internet connection to tackle multiplayer, or the capacity to download said 9GB portion of the game, we decided to focus mostly on the single player aspect of Halo 5: Guardians for this review. While our embargo from Microsoft stated we aren't allowed to talk about anything past the...

  • ‘Halo 3: ODST’ now available on Xbox One

Along with Halo: Reach, ODST is one of the only core Halo games where you don't play as series' protagonist, Master Chief. Reach still has you playing as Spartans, but ODST is more of a "lower-decks" story. Now it's available to Xbox One owners. Released in 2009, ODST was originally set to be an add-on to the Xbox 360's Halo 3, but eventually released as a stand-alone package. Taking place during the events of Halo 2, you take on the role of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODST), along with Reach, are my two favourite Halo games Halo: The Master Chief Collection...

  • Gaming news roundup: printer Doom, PS4 Nike’s and Master Chief in Destiny

PS4-styled Nike's with an HDMI port, a printer that runs Doom and Halo star Master Chief found in Destiny, these are the three most tolerable gaming stories of the day. The US$950 "JRDN 4 X PS4" are unofficially excellent From Dual Shockers comes the story of one man and his obsession for creating custom Nike's. That man is Jonny Barry from custom sneaker design site FreakerSneaks. His "brand loyalty" to Sony and Nike inspired this cool creation, which even comes with dual-HDMI ports. Barry painted the Air Jordan IV's Sony-black, added the PS4 logo's to the rear and whacked in two HDMI...

  • Killstreak confirmed: Microsoft shuttering Xbox Entertainment Studios

The 18 000 job cuts announced by Satya Nadella earlier this week weren't going to go unnoticed, but Microsoft, for all intents and purposes, is on one massive rampage. After the newly-bought Nokia Devices and Services division suffered the first blow, the company is now slaying its under-performing Xbox Entertainment Studios. Just like the Nokia-Android X debacle, this move doesn't seem much of a surprise either. The division has been at pains to draw interest or projects in its relatively brief lifespan. The Santa Monica subsidiary, charged with providing interactive Xbox-exclusive television content for Live subscribers, employed around 200 people according...

Here's the plot, care of Bungie: Our story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man’s Golden Age.
