  • ‘Assassin’s Creed IV’ readies us with new trailer and 29 October release date

Here’s the good news: Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag was going to launch 1 November, but now it gets a 29 October global release date. Hooray for Ubisoft. We haven’t discussed Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag for a number of reasons. Firstly, it’s the fourth in the series by now and we thought that Ubisoft has run out of steam (it hasn’t). Secondly, it’s about pirates and we want to stab people in the face, not sail ships into the unknown (we want to sail now though). It could be this new story trailer for AC4 that’s got us...

  • Xbox One to possibly launch 8 November: report

Microsoft’s upcoming super-console, the Xbox One might launch 8 November, a full week earlier than the confirmed 15 November launch of Sony’s PS4. This is according to Kotaku, which has dug up a Walmart company-wide email that lists a midnight launch for the Xbox One on the night of 8 December. The site’s source is someone who works on the physical marketing for Walmart and the email is a list of all midnight specials planned by the US mega-store in the near future. Is this just a push for Microsoft to get its console out before the competition? If you...

  • iPhone 5C, 5S may land in China two months after US launch

China may only see Apple’s latest iPhones, the 5C and 5S, a full two months after the rumoured 10 September US launch date. Yicia said that the launch date for China is 28 September. This rumour comes from a financial analyst who says that the reason for the iPhone 5C and 5S’ late launch date in China is due to a verification process which must be completed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. One the phones pass verification, both phones will be legally sound to sell in China. The report (translated) also lists the prices as 5 599 (US$914) and...

  • ‘Diablo III’ coming 3 September for PS3 and Xbox 360

Blizzard’s seminal hack and slash RPG, Diablo III makes its way to the Xbox 360 and PS3 3 September 2013. Diablo III will be available in the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. There’s even a suggested retail price of €59.99 (US$79.99) which seems a little pricey for a re-released PC game from last year, but this is Diablo III we’re talking about, so there’s plenty of lean meat on the bone for gamers to consume. For those worried about how the mouse-driven action of Diablo III will translate into smooth console experience, cast all doubt aside....

  • Samsung to announce Galaxy S IV 14 March in New York

“Sources familiar with Samsung’s plans” have outright confirmed that 14 March is the launch date for a few devices from one of Korea’s most successful companies and one of the devices is widely expected to be the Samsung Galaxy S IV, says The Verge. The announcement was further cemented by Eldar Murtazin, editor-in-chief for Mobile-review (one of Russia, and perhaps the world’s largest and most reliable mobile phone sites). Save the date for a big announcement – March 14 And keep silence HTC will miss HTC One sales again Like it was in 2012. — Eldar Murtazin (@eldarmurtazin) February 18,...

  • Wii U launches 8 December in Japan: $338 for basic set, $405 for premium

There are not one, but two decent reasons to read this story. One, it’s not about the iPhone 5 and two, it’s the launch date of Nintendo’s fabled Wii U. Come 8 December in Japan, the world may sit up and take notice of the Big-N again. Two will tell the tale The successor to the Wii, the Wii U is an interesting experiment for one of the world’s oldest gaming companies. Instead...

  • Next iPhone launches 21 September if Verizon’s ‘Vacation Blackout’ has anything to say about it

Is this it? TechCrunch reports that the iPhone is being announced 12 September, and launching 21 September. Sound like more crap spewed from the gluttonous belly of the internet? It’s not, so read on. The confirmation comes from US-based mobile telecoms, Verizon which has outright confirmed that it’s going to have an “all-staff vacation blackout from the dates of Friday, September 21 to September 30″. When the bigwigs blackout staff time, it’s always an...

  • iPhone 5 to launch 21 September [Rumour]

Is this it? From a French iPhone site comes a release date of 21 September. According to the site, the information was grabbed from “a Chinese source that specialises in the manufacture of accessories”. This company has apparently been privy to Apple’s launch plans, and knows the tech specs of the iPhone 5. Let’s just note that the site is a virtual unknown, so any launch announcements seem tenuous at best. ...

  • Evil is back with the Diablo III TV spot

Have you watched the video? Go watch it again. Right, evil is back. Diablo III launches May 15. That’s just three weeks shy of male virginity reaching an all-time high. We’re not sure what’s better though, the video or the comments just below it. “MY GIRLFRIEND SAID THAT THIS VIDEO SUCKS; SHE’S SINGLE NOW, JUST KIDDIN’ SHE’S DEAD :D”. Fifteen May, remember that as the day social lives across the globe ended.
