  • Blackberry 10 hands on review: its time is soon

Note: BlackBerry 10 (or BB10) is still under development and not yet a finished product, but we’ve checked out an almost-final version of the user interface, which is pretty close to perfection, according to RIM – but we’ll let you be the judge by checking out our findings below. Delayed until early 2013, the first BB10 devices should land in January – although we’re now hearing it could be as late as March and RIM is now saying it will arrive during the first quarter of the year. We saw the near-final version of BlackBerry 10 running on the new Dev...

  • Leaked BB10 training manual totes ‘best in class’ HTML5

A leaked PowerPoint presentation of the Blackberry 10 (BB10) training manual for Rogers employees (a retail electronics store in the US) has shed light on the new BB10 specs and the promise of about 70 000 QNX apps that will be available in the new re-named Blackberry World. The training manual apparently contains some screenshots of an online course for sales people. A few specs on the BB10 phone also slipped through in the documents,...

  • BlackBerry’s flagship maybe christened the ‘Z10′, comes in black and white

With RIM’s BlackBerry 10 event a little over a month away, we’ve been referring to the company’s flagship full touch device as the “L-Series”. According to a leaked image courtesy of Unwired View, that’s no longer the case. The leaked image refers to the new BB10 smartphone as the “Z10″. Not groundbreaking news we know, but it does roll off the tongue slightly better than “L-Series”. It’s also a streamlined shift from the pedantic alpha-numeric handset titles of the past. The far more interesting aspect of this leak, shows off the colour variants the Z10 will be available in. We’re all...

  • BlackBerry 10 UI screenshots, a preview of what’s to come

The Vietnamese are at it again, this time round with screenshots of the new BlackBerry 10 UI. The site initially released some beautiful shots of the BlackBerry 10 L-Series smartphone, which was then followed up by a hands-on video comparison against the Dev Alpha B handset. As far as we can tell this is only a Beta version, but there should be little change between this version and the one that will make its way to the public after RIM’s BB10 event on 30 January 2013. Apart from the Vietnamese author’s personal details (which doesn’t seem like a wise move on...

  • BlackBerry 10 L-Series images leaked, looks damn fine

With RIM‘s BlackBerry 10 event coming 30 January 2013, more and more details are coming to the fore regarding the new OS and product lineup. Vietnamese site, Tinh te posted a plethora of images showcasing the new L-Series smartphone, which is set to be the flagship device on which RIM will pin its hopes for the new BlackBerry 10 OS. Looking at the beautiful close-ups, the device looks polished and we’d be surprised if this wasn’t the final hardware set to debut early next year. The L-Series obviously hinges off the design of the Dev Alpha B units that...

  • BlackBerry 10 L-Series hands-on [Video]

As promised, a hands-on video comparing the new BB10 L-Series with the Dev Alpha B handset courtesy of Tinh te. This video does a good job of showcasing the effort that RIM has put into creating a device that is both good to look at and easy to interact with. The video also details the camera quality of the L-Series as well as keypad and contact dialing UI. We also get a sneak peek at the enhanced gestures that BlackBerry has been touting with the BB10 OS. Just something else to note, the video’s in Vietnamese, but it does give...

  • RIM release BB10 SDK ‘Gold’ toolkit, devs start your engines

With the BlackBerry 10 event less than two months away, it appears the Canadian manufacturer is moving full steam ahead with the release of its “Gold” build SDK toolkit for developers. The Gold build includes all the final tools, components and API’s that now allows develops to create applications designed to work hand-in-hand with the BlackBerry 10 OS. The Gold build is touted to feature BlackBerry Cascades to aid developers in creating visually stunning applications according to RIM. HTML developers are also given something with BlackBerry WebWorks, said to deliver native like performance. The SDK is also packs Adobe AIR...

According to an official press release, RIM will be hosting its Blackberry 10 event on 30 January 2013. The operating system has also been scheduled for a first quarter release date. Full details on the event are yet to be disclosed, but we can infer that Blackberry will look to showcase a polished version of its latest OS, previewed on its Dev Alpha devices. The Dev Alpha and Dev Alpha B have been doing the rounds among developers to give a better idea of how their creations will look and feel on Blackberry 10. RIM is expected to reveal its L...

  • BlackBerry 10 review: a hands on with the still heavily in-development BB10

BlackBerry 10 (or BB10) is still heavily under development and still quite some way from being a finished product, but we’ve checked out an almost-final version of the user interface, which is pretty close to perfection, according to RIM – but we’ll let you be the judge by checking out our findings below. Delayed until early 2013, the first BB10 devices should land in January– although we’re yet to see final devices running the new OS. We saw the near-final version of BlackBerry 10 running on the new Dev Alpha B handset, building on the other test units and newer devices we’ve...
