Google Daydream 2.0 is official: what to expect?

Google’s Daydream is still that for many a smartphone owner (heh), owing to a paltry selection of compatible phones and a lack of peripheral availability locally.

Still, the company announced that LG’s upcoming smartphone, presumably the V30, will be getting compatibility with the VR suite. And then there’s the announcement that Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and S8+ would receive the suite via a software update.

The other recent news was that Google would be producing standalone Daydream headsets, with partners including HTC and Lenovo.

In addition to Daydream 2.0 Euphrates, Google’s VR drive has also seen it recently purchase the team behind Job Simulator

Fortunately, Google’s push isn’t stopping there, as the company has announced Daydream 2.0 Euphrates. For starters, the update is coming to all headsets and supported handsets.

As for the features we can expect from the new update?

“You’ll be able to capture what you’re seeing, as well as cast your virtual world right onto the screen in your living room,” Google says. “And, soon, you’ll be able to watch YouTube videos in VR with other people and share the experience in the same virtual space.”

There’s no word on a release date for the Euphrates update however.
