Donald Trump’s trying to save ZTE from complete meltdown

While a seemingly forlorn ZTE was tweeting about Mother’s Day on Sunday, an unlikely saviour of the strickened company emerged.

US President Donald Trump tweeted Sunday that he was working to give ZTE “a way to get back into business, fast”.

“Too many jobs in China lost. Commerce Department has been instructed to get it done!” he added.

Since April, ZTE has been unable to utilise US made products from the likes of Qualcomm and Google, two integral cogs in the smartphone manufacturer’s wheel, after a trade ban was imposed by the US government.

The ban was set to last until 2025.

Last week, ZTE announced plans to cease international operations, leaving many companies that use its products in limbo.

Nevertheless, the tweet does suggest that it could all still work out for both ZTE and the United States, and everyone else on the planet waiting patiently for ZTE’s bonkers dual-screen foldable smartphone.
