LG Q7 launches in South Africa: here’s how much it’ll cost

Gunning for the South African mid-range segment, Korean firm LG has today launched its Q7 smartphone.

The phone itself was launched globally in May, but arrives in South Africa just a few weeks after the flagship LG G7.

Internally, there’s an unnamed 1.5Ghz quad-core CPU paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and microSD card support.

Up front, there’s an 18:9 5.5-inch 2160×1080 display and an 8MP selfie camera. There’s a single 13MP sensor around the back.

The device is set to debut with Android 8.0 Oreo, and feature LTE support, but not WiFi 802.11 ac support.

The LG Q7 does however feature a number of advancements over the Q6. For one, there’s a fingerprint reader mounted on the rear, and the phone’s also IP68 water and dust resistant. DTS:X virtual surround sound tech also makes an appearance.

As for the price, you’ll need to fork out R5999 on pre-paid. Contracts begin at R349pm through Vodacom and Cell C.
