Xiaomi teases Mi A2 on Twitter

The Xiaomi Mi A2 may be closer than you think.

The successor to the Chinese brand’s first Android One smartphone is set to be unveiled on 24 July in Spain.

“Are you a big fan of #MiA1? You will love this…” the company teased on Twitter.

Notably, the phone pictured is the Xiaomi Mi A1, hinting that the “next gen” of the device is on its way. Like the Mi A1, the A2 will be run stock Android software instead of the MiUI-laden OS the manufacturer normally opts for.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 should be an interesting mid-range device, sporting a Snapdragon 660, a dual camera setup at the rear, and RAM options randing from 3GB to 6GB depending on market.

It’s not yet clear if the phone will be heading to South Africa.
