Xiaomi Redmi 6A 32GB now listed in South Africa

MIA Africa, the importer of Xiaomi products into South Africa, has quietly added the Xiaomi Redmi 6A 32GB to its available devices list.

The phone, which launched globally in June, is an upgrade of the Redmi 5A which hit shelves last year.

While the 16GB version of the device could be found on third-party retailers, its larger storage sibling wasn’t yet listed by sellers within the country.

A 5.45 inch 1440×720 screen fronts the Redmi 6A, while a quad-core Mediatek Helio A22 pushes around its pixels.

It’s combo’d with 32GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. There’s also a microSD card slot if you desire more of the former.

The Redmi 6A also features a 13MP f/2.2 snapper at the rear, complete with phase detection autofocus, and a 5MP camera for selfies.

A 3000mAh battery powers the phone, while Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.0 is the software foundation.

The phone notably doesn’t have a USB-C port, or Bluetooth 5.0, but it does have a headphone jack and support for dual SIM cards and LTE.

It’s currently listed for R2099 on the MIA Africa site, not a terrible option for those looking for a budget buy.
