  • Everything you need to know about Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

The eleventh major release in the Assassin’s Creed series is coming this October in the form of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Set in the time of the Peloponnesian War in Ancient Greece, the game follows the conflict between Athens and Sparta with its own fictional flair. If you’ve been a fan of the series since the beginning, you’ll know that Assassin’s Creed is famous for its action-role playing in ancient history based on real life legends and myth. Though many say the trope is becoming monotonous since the original story line, this new installment follows the same traditional themes. Developer Ubisoft still seem determined...

  • HMD Global relaunches Nokia’s ‘Snake’ for Facebook

Remember the game Snake that came built-in on all Nokias once upon a time? It was exciting, addictive and challenging. Now HMD Global, the Finnish company that now houses the Nokia brand, has released a reinvention of the classic 90s game in augmented reality (AR) form, called Snake Mask and Snake Real World. But its not the AR you’re thinking of, rather it is a Facebook camera filter effect that turns you into a snake. You play the game by accessing your Facebook camera, finding the filter and then interacting with your real world environment... as a snake. The game was first announced...

Huawei is now the second-most popular smartphone manufacturer after it shipped 54.2-million smartphones worldwide in Q2 2018. • 3 budget friendly camera drones available in South Africa

Let’s face it, drones are cool. Military style equipment that you can fly around to see the world from the skies above? Cool. Aerial photography without having to board a plane? Cool. Feeling like a futuristic superhero? Cool. Spying on your neighbours? Not so cool. Either way, the problem is drones is that they're expensive. And as an expensive hobby, you're going to need to fork out a trunk-full of cash to afford the queens of the skies. But, if you don't have R1.5-million to spend, we've hunted down a few budget friendly drones, so you can be cool without being...

  • 3 simple tips to optimise your smartphone photography

I’m not the biggest fan of smartphone photography. Real purpose-built cameras just give you so much more in every way. There’s more depth of field, more clarity, more settings... But, I know what you’re thinking. Smartphones are just easier. They’re easier to carry, easier to use and easier to protect. You see something you want to photograph, pull out your phone right there and shoot with the touch of an on-screen button. Even I, someone who greatly prefers my DSLR, fall prey to the simplicity of smartphone photography. I’m sure you, like me, still want your photos to be great when...
